  • The isometric lines are very winding.

  • Since our country is located on the east side of the trough, ground low pressure will develop due to convergence.

  • Considering the time of the hailstorm at 5:50 p.m., we can expect that the cut-off low with the cod core will move toward the Korean Peninsula.

  • The temperature is about -20 degrees Celsius.

850 hPa

  • The temperature is about seven degrees Celsius.

  • It is baroclinic, so because of the strong advection, wet air is introduced.

  • A large temperature difference with 500 hPa is about 27 degrees, which causes instability at the upper and lower level.

Surface

  • It is predicted that this case can be classified as an front type since there are some cold fronts at surface. 

  • As hailstones pass, the front can also be seen moving southeast of the Korean Peninsula.
