  • Cutoff low with cold core exists at the upper side of Korean peninsula.

  • The Korean peninsula is located at the trough, therefore the cold air from the north is moving toward south.

  • Two low pressure systems are affecting to the Korean peninsula.

  • The isotherm line of 15℃ is passing the Yellow Sea.

  • The temperature difference between 500hPa and 850hPa level is about 30℃.

Surface

  • The Korean peninsula is located at the east part of the trough. Therefore, strong updraft can be caused by the low pressure system.

  • Low pressure is located right above the Korean peninsula.

  • There is a possibility for a convective cloud to be formed.

  • The temperature at the surface of the Korean peninsula is about 22℃. Therefore, the temperature difference between 500hPa level and the surface is about 32℃, which is very huge.
