  • Starting with Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, Eunpyeong-gu, and Nowon-gu, Incheon, 12:40 p.m.

  • Upper cold air exists and strong vorticity makes the low pressure system to appear almost like the cutoff low. Therefore, a low pressure with cold core is developed.

  • The temperature at this pressure level is about -20℃, which is very strong cold air.

  • Low pressure with cold core has developed.

  • There exists high temperature gradient around the Korean peninsula, caused by troposphere jointed effect.

  • Those phenomenon made the atmosphere to become more instable.

Surface (00UTC)

  • The temperature of the surface near the Korean peninsula is about  6~7℃. Therefore, the temperature difference between 500hPa level is about 14℃.

  • Near the Korean peninsula, strong low pressure with the front was developed.

  • There exists a trough above the Korean peninsula, so the low pressure is able to develop and various advection occurs with very fast wind speed.
